Coachella 2013

This past weekend, some of the COREY team headed out to the desert for weekend one of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival! Check out some of our favorite moments:

POPSUGAR snapped a picture of Corey (left) at the H&M Loves Music Party on Saturday afternoon (left). Shana in COREY Summer 2013 and Corey in a vintage CLC caftan pose for a picture with Jennifer Chan at the same event (right).

It was all about metallics and pleats at Bat for Lashes

Hands up in the air for Major Lazer!

How to Destroy Angels (left) and New Order (right) were two Saturday night performances with amazing shows.

Streamers from Red Hot Chili Peppers didn't disappoint as the last performance on Sunday night even in the windy dust storm!

Until next year (or maybe next weekend?)

Searching for Sugar Man

“Searching for Sugar Man” has taken the country by storm. Winning multiple awards at Sundance and most recently even an Oscar, the documentary has gone above and beyond two South Africans' journey to find a singer-songwriter named Rodríguez.

Rodríguez is an American folk musician based in Detroit, Michigan. His career initially proved short-lived with two little-sold albums in the early 1970s and some brief touring in Australia but eventually he fell off the grid. Little did he know his music had turned him into the “Elvis” of South Africa where his fanbase had grown for decades.

Now the 70 year old will play at two major music festivals this year: Coachella and Glastonbury. You will definitely find us watching his show on Sunday at Coachella!

Take a listen to some of his music:

“Sugar Man”

“I Wonder”

“Crucify Your Mind”

Marianne Faithfull

Marianne Faithfull is still one of our favorite singers from the 60s with her charming voice and too-cute look. Her music is definitely playing in the CLC offices today.

Blue Ice Project

Over the weekend, we came across this pretty amazing video of the first track “BLUE ICE” from Shout Out Louds's upcoming album. The band created an innovative project for the release of this track called The Ice Record Project. Ten (lucky) people received this blue ice box with special instructions to create the 7” record completely out of ice. Check out the video to see how the record is made and to listen to the first track released off Shout Out Louds new album, “BLUE ICE”:

Christmas Gold

We are getting into the holiday spirit here at CLC which means a lot of Christmas music! In our search for the perfect holiday mix I came across some pretty amazing albums ranging from utterly cool (yes Dino, Bootsy and Ray Charles would be on that list) to the hilarious (Oh Colonel Sanders and yule tide disco how we love you)! Definitely checking out the Star Wars X-Mas album while trimming the tree tonight!
